A Timber cove Elopement on Film
Since I received the scans back, here’s a wonderful little elopement up along the Sonoma coast. I’ve actually known the bride for a long time, like - over a decade. We have stories from our young partying days and what not, as we were friends with a wonderful group of people, some of whom we all are still connected to. So, when she reached out about photographing their take of a “wedding” explaining it would just be a little ceremony with each of their kids at Timber Cove, I was beyond thrilled! And if I’m being honest - when I had found out that they were even engaged a long while back via social media - I always hoped I’d be the one to photograph it.
I made sure to take the scenic drive up from Oakland along the coast and oohing and ahhing over the simple views. Even passed by past couple’s wedding spots along the way put a big ol’ smile on my face. Thinking to myself, just how lucky I am to be able to do this and get to live in California to have spectacular choices of locations and venues. Each time I drive to places, my brain is always like - ohh that would be a good spot to take photos, oh and there..hmmm I wonder how I could go there and where I could park… etc..
As I headed up closer to Timber cove, and being so early I decided to make a stop at Jenner to get some gas and enjoy some Indian food at Jay’s Taste of India food truck. Had a great convo and a delicious little meal with a spectacular view at the Jenner Visitor Center. I actually meant to stop at deli in Bodega Bay but missed the turn and just kept going… anyway, I finally get to Timber Cove and it’ was just as lovely as I expected.
When I entered their room - Kristin came charging at me with such a big grin and it was so wonderful to hug and see each other in person since it had been a few years since we last seen each other. I finally got to meet Reuben and we all reminisced and I got to “work” photographing the two of them and their kiddos… and their ceremony atop the cliff and at their favorite spots on site.
Anyway, enough words… here are some images, shot on medium format film - oh and Thank you Kristin & Reuben for letting me have the honor of capturing this time in your lives!
