A South Yuba river Elopement

South Yuba River - Every year, a group of us head to this area and camp out and unplug from the world. As a group of families who have been doing this for over 10 years now, it’s a lovely respite that I look forward to each year. We get to connect and hang out in person, away from schedules and our busy lives and not be on our phones. Our kids get to also be kids again and run feral, away from their devices! And yes, they actually don’t mind.

Last summer I was able to connect with this sweet couple to photograph their elopement at the South Yuba. We were pretty lucky to be able to do this and be at the same place at the same time - because if you’ve ever been here, there is absolutely no cell service, so you really have to plan and give the proper directions to the spots too.

While I would have loved to have gotten some photos down at the river, it was a little too much for the little one - especially since before meeting up - they were already at another river spot so by this time, they were ready to get freshened up and into their wedding clothes.

It was really wonderful to be able to document this for the three of them…
